Lesson 2: Left Hand Fingering
I hope you had fun in the previous lesson? (The right hand fingerings). This time, to complete the lesson, we are going to work with both hands together. I will have to repeat some of the important instructions from the last lesson.
The fingers must be straight when they pull the strings, meaning that you should not bend the 1st or 2nd joint.
The numbers below the staff represent the right hand fingers, number 1 being the index finger. Numbers on top represent the left hand fingers.
Your thumb should rest on the pick-up, or if you have a five string bass, on the B string. This will help mute it. You have to pull on the string, don't try to hit it. The more you pull the louder you will play.
