The Ionian Melodic Minor goes with minor Maj7 chords. The Dorian Melodic Minor goes with m7b9 chords. The Phrygian Melodic Minor goes with Maj7#5 chords. The Lydian Mixolydian goes with 7#11 or 7b5 chords. The Super Mixolydian with 7b13 chords. The Super Locrian goes with the altered chords (7b5, #5, b9, #9).
Memorize each individual pattern to be able to play each of them starting from any note on the bass. Like in the Major modes, you are not limited to one octave when you are using the modes. In that regard, the following page shows the positions relating to each mode.
